About ARK

Acts of Roskill Kindness (ARK) Trust: Strengthening Community Resilience

Origin from Global Hope Missions (GHM)

Acts of Roskill Kindness (ARK) Trust emerged from Global Hope Missions (GHM), a well-established youth development organisation in Puketāpapa. GHM has deep connections within the community through churches, schools, sports clubs, and social organisations. While GHM’s core focus was youth development, it became evident that a dedicated organisation was needed to address disaster readiness, response, and community resilience. This recognition led to the establishment of ARK, a trust committed to equipping the community with the necessary resources, training, and coordination to prepare for and respond effectively to emergencies.

Formation of ARK as a Charitable Trust in February 2024

In response to the increasing frequency and impact of climate-related disasters, ARK was formally incorporated as a Charitable Trust (CC62045) in February 2024. The trust was established to enhance community resilience, ensuring that local organisations, churches, businesses, and residents have the knowledge and resources to respond effectively to crises. ARK’s mission is to prepare the Puketāpapa community for disasters through emergency planning, food security, youth leadership training, and fostering collaborative partnerships.
